Driving day:
After some scenic some industrial roads we stopped at the tiny yet quaint village of Durgerdam that is essentially a row of houses, a street and a marina. After some croquettes at the camping site Cafe Restaurant De Badhoeve we drove to the island village of Marken. Tour busses filled the parking lot and Spanish tourists filled the streets gawking at cheese and wooden shoe shops. We departed right away and headed back to Egmond stopping for a very short look at Monnickendam, Grote Kerk. Closed – we were back on the road.
