A visit to the UK 2014

June 30th – July 4th 2014
A flight from JFK to Amsterdam to meet up with Hans. He brings the AlfaSud down with him and we then drive directly to Calais France and take the Chunnel to the UK and drive north to Lincolnshire. We then visit Pheasant Brewery in East Markham UK.


July 5th &6th 2014
We the drive to the Peak District where we check out a car show in Bakewell. Next we drove over to the Thornbridge Brewery and attended the “Great Peak Weekender beer festival”.


July 7th 2014
A visit to Donington Park Racing Museum, back to Grainthrope, a visit to Lincoln and BLS Automotive and Alfa Romeo Specialist


July 12th 2014
A car show in North Cotes, A very wet Grainthorpe Anniversary party in the park,


7/14 -15 /2014
A trip to the Lake District starts off with a stop in Ilkley and the Ilkley Brewery. Then a visit to Settle for a narrow boat ride. The Kendal Castle was our next stop to check out the rubble. Next was a visit to the Hawkshead Brewery in Staveley.  The Lakeland Motor Museum is located along the River Leven


July 16 & 17 2014
More Lake District: A visit to Hutton in the Forest Hall then an exploration of the Frontiers of the Roman Empire at the Birdoswald Roman Fort and Hadrian’s Wall in Brampton. Then on to the Lanercost Priory. Next a stop at an English Heritage site: Castlerigg Stone Circle in Keswick.


July 20-28, 2014
A visit to Woodhall Spa for a vintage weekend. Then back to the Netherlands and a visit to the village of Leeuwarden and De Blokhuispoort – a former prison turned art space and shops. Soon back to Schiphol airport and home.
