The day started with a beautiful sunrise at 5am that turned into pouring rain. Eventually it became simply overcast. A walk in the dunes towards Egmond aan den Hoef to see the Kortebaan horse race in town. On the way we passed many beach houses with vast vegetable gardens growing in beach sand. Then we stopped at the Slotkapel Egmond, a chapel is situated next to the ruins of the medieval castle of Egmond. We stopped in at a large thrift store then enjoyed some Alfa beers and pizza while watching the street race.
