Back to the Netherlands and off to France

July 12th – 22nd 2012

A visit and overnight stay in Den Haag was first with a visit to Madurodam then a trip back up to Groningen and the Maallust Brewery. We then set off south where we went to the Kroler Muler Museum. Our overnight stay was in Poperinge, Belgium where we were treated to some pigs feet! As we traveled south through Belgium and then France we made a beer stop at St. Bernardus Brewery and a WW1 graveyard stop farther into France. As we explored France, more WW1 sights were visited that eventually lead us to WW2 sites cumulating in the village of Oradour-sur-Glane, now the skeletal remains of a once thriving village turned open air museum. On the way we stopped at the even more horrific tourist trap Mont Saint-Michel. With the trip coming to an end, back north we road stopping at the Abby Orval Trappist Brewery and monastery ruins.  Back in Holland our last days were spent at the Black Motocross. A music/motorcycle and mud festival.
