The orginal kitchen with its dark cabinet and ugly stained formica counter top were cheaply made and poorly designed. A new IKEA kitchen was designed using their online software at ikea.com. The quality is much higher then many people expect but requires assembly so that is off putting to many. The glued down vinyl flooring also need to be replaced. Scraping this flooring up revealed another – linoleum roll flooring, also glued down. When cleared IKEA composite plank flooring was installed. Next task was assembly and installation of cabinet boxes. Rather then ugly formica, solid butcher block tops where chosen, sanded, sealed then installed.
